Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Senior Manager of Closures to lead design and development of body structures, closures, exteriors, and chassis through multiple development stages. You will build a team and drive production-ready designs meeting cost and weight targets with GD&T precision.

Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and suppliers to deliver optimal solutions from concept to production feasibility in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years leading a hardware engineering team delivering structural components or systems
• 5+ years designing, developing, and releasing vehicle subsystems and parts
• 5+ years using 3D CAD software collaboratively (NX, Catia, 3DX)
• 3+ years in a production release process in collaboration with manufacturing teams
• 3+ years in a factory setting launching a new product
• 5+ years applying and using GD&T

Responsibilities

• Create and develop structural system requirements and specifications with design, supply chain, and core teams.
• Set vehicle-aligned targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs to meet crash and manufacturing constraints.
• Optimize concepts with analytical and physical assessments while meeting regulations.
• Deliver craftsmanship and GD&T-compliant fit/finish in production-ready designs.
• Study and implement new construction techniques and drive production feasibility.
• Communicate effectively with Studio, Packaging, Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
• Present concepts and status to senior management and company personnel.
