Job summary

Zenovo is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering Operations to shape how engineering delivers. This is a high-visibility leadership role, working directly with the SVP of Engineering to drive execution, planning and operational excellence across multidisciplinary teams.

You will establish planning cadences, governance and delivery frameworks, improve visibility, manage dependencies, and partner with engineering leaders to remove bottlenecks and raise delivery confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience operating in complex, engineering-led organisations with technical excellence and operational discipline.
• Experience in Engineering Operations, Technical Programme Management, Project Management or Product Operations with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience in AI/ML, Advanced Computing, Robotics, Semiconductor, Scientific Computing, Deep-Tech or R&D-led environments.
• Background in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Science is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering planning, programme execution and operational governance across multiple technical teams.
• Establish planning cadences, roadmap reviews, milestone tracking and delivery reporting.
• Improve visibility across engineering programmes, ensuring leaders have clear insight into priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery confidence.
• Coordinate software, hardware, infrastructure, research and operational teams to keep complex programmes moving forward.
• Partner with engineering leadership to improve execution, remove delivery bottlenecks and increase organisational effectiveness.
• Lead release readiness, programme reviews and cross-functional planning activities.
• Develop meaningful operational metrics, reporting dashboards and executive updates that support informed decision-making.
• Champion best practice across Jira, Confluence, GitHub and engineering planning processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery predictability, operational efficiency and engineering workflows.
• Escalate delivery risks, resource constraints and dependencies early, enabling proactive decision-making.

We're partnering with an ambitious, technology-led organisation developing next-generation solutions across AI, advanced computing, robotics and deep-tech.

As the business continues to scale, they're looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Engineering Operations to help shape how engineering delivers. This is a highly visible leadership position, working directly with the SVP of Engineering to improve execution, planning and operational excellence across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

This isn't a traditional project management role. It's an opportunity to build the operating rhythm of a world-class engineering organisation—creating the structure, visibility and governance that enables exceptional engineers to do their best work.

You'll establish the planning processes, governance and delivery frameworks that allow engineering teams to execute complex programmes with confidence. By improving visibility, managing dependencies and driving cross-functional collaboration, you'll enable technical leaders to focus on architecture, innovation and engineering excellence.

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of meetings you attend—it's measured by how effectively engineering delivers.

About You

You'll bring experience operating within complex, engineering-led organisations where technical excellence and operational discipline go hand in hand.

You'll likely have experience in Engineering Operations, Technical Programme Management, Project Management or Product Operations, with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and improve engineering delivery without direct line management responsibility.

We're particularly interested in people who have worked within environments such as:
