A leading firm is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager in Tax Credits and Incentives Advisory. The role involves providing consulting services for renewable energy tax credits, leading a team, and navigating complex tax structures. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in tax planning and renewable energy credits, along with strong communication skills. The firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Description
As a Manager / Senior Manager in our Tax Credits and Incentives Advisory (TCIA) Practice, you will draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide tax equity investment consulting services for clients. You will be a leader in a team comprised of professionals with significant experience in the credits and incentives space. We are looking for someone with Energy Credits experience.
Cherry Bekaert recognizes the expertise required in structuring renewable energy credit transactions to maximize monetization. Prior to the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), maximizing project value involved complex partnership structures that split tax attributes from cash. Tax equity investors, private equity investors, and developers require detailed partnership tax models to evaluate their investments.
The IRA introduced new mechanisms to monetize renewable energy tax credits. Tax-exempt entities can now monetize investments in renewable energy projects via Elective Pay (Direct Pay) under IRC 6417. The IRA also established IRC 6418, enabling these credits to be transferred to unrelated taxpayers for cash.
At Cherry Bekaert, you will work with clients across various industries, helping them understand, navigate, and utilize energy tax credits through established monetization structures such as tax equity, as well as emerging opportunities provided by the IRA under IRC 6417 & IRC 6418.
You will lead a small team with significant industry deal and modeling experience to develop Cherry Bekaert’s renewable energy practice. Our goal is to offer tax equity investment opportunities to our existing clients and guide both buy-side and sell-side clients through transferability processes.
