Position Summary:

This role is responsible for activities related to overseeing raw materials through finished goods inventory and ensuring control and compliance of inventory processes for all USCAN sites. This role partners with multiple Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams, along with Quality, Audit, and Illumina Digital Services teams to ensure inventory accuracy, organization, and analysis. Responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and material control systems activities related to material control and inventory control functions.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Establishes strategic directions and goals for Inventory Control functions. Implements operational objectives and work plans. Determines resources needed to meet goals and delegates assignments to subordinates. Develops, modifies, and executes company policies, procedures, and work instructions that affect immediate operations and may have enterprise-wide effect. Ensures Inventory Control and SOX compliance with cycle counting, inventory adjustments, materials requiring segregation, and 3PL inventory reconciliations. Works on complex assignments where problem solving requires conceptual thinking as all factors may not be clearly defined. Regularly interacts with lower and higher levels of management on matters concerning functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Collaborates with Warehouse, Logistics, Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Internal and External Audit, IDS, and others to review, update, and improve processes, data, and KPIs. Applies knowledge to influence other stakeholders on desired departmental outcomes. Interacts with the ability to persuade others in sensitive and complex situations while preserving relationships. Leads efforts to drive continuous improvement with inventory accuracy and compliance. Advocates for system changes and enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity. Ensures system stock discrepancies are addressed and resolved timely. Frequently advises team(s) on moderately complex matters and exercises supervision in terms of budget, methods, and staffing. Oversees experienced professionals and is responsible for a subordinate supervisor and team. Builds and develops a highly effective & engaged team. Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience. Extensive knowledge and experience in inventory controls and inventory management. Comprehensive knowledge of distribution & warehousing processes, controls and best practices. Strong knowledge of Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, and audit processes and activities. Strong understanding and experience with ERP and WMS systems (SAP preferred). Strong knowledge & experience of medical device regulations a plus. Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Principles. Proficient with business systems, data management and Microsoft office. Uses an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness to develop and/or apply highly advanced concepts, principles, standards, or techniques to solve challenging business problems. Ability to lead & develop a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise sound judgement within established guidelines.

Estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, Distribution / Inventory Control role based in the United States of America is:

$141,600 - $212,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
