Job description

ABOUT NAPAWF

Founded in 1996 by 100 Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women, NAPAWF (National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum) is the only organization dedicated to empowering AAPI women and girls and gender non-conforming folks to impact policy and drive systemic change in the U.S. NAPAWF is building a movement for social, political, and structural change by building a multilingual, multigenerational membership that encompasses the diversity of the AAPI community.

Employing a reproductive justice framework, we use organizing, advocacy, and communications strategies to assert full agency over our lives, our families, and our communities. The organization also stands in solidarity with other women of color facing oppression and marginalization. NAPAWF focuses on three core issues employing an intersectional approach that holistically centers the experiences and stories of AAPI women and girls:

  • Reproductive Rights and Health
  • Economic Justice
  • Immigration and Racial Justice

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Development Operations leads the systems, data, processes, and operational practices that support effective fundraising at NAPAWF. The position is accountable for reliable development information, efficient workflows, meaningful reporting, and coordination with Finance and other departments. The role provides operational leadership while the Chief Development Officer retains responsibility for overall fundraising strategy and departmental direction.

Key Responsibilities

Development Operations Leadership and Process Improvement

  • Lead assessment, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Development workflows, procedures, and controls.
  • Document key processes, establish standard operating procedures, and coordinate cross-functional improvements with Finance, Operations, Communications, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Set operational priorities and monitor timely completion of gift processing, donor acknowledgment, and related Development activities.

CRM, Fundraising Systems, and Data Governance

  • Serve as primary internal owner and administrator of EveryAction and related fundraising systems, coordinating specialized vendor support where appropriate.
  • Manage system configuration, user access, data quality, troubleshooting, testing, integrations, documentation, and user support within approved authority.
  • Establish Development data governance practices covering definitions, ownership, access, quality standards, and confidential information.
  • Lead the documented transition of relevant EveryAction responsibilities from the current consultant; assess future technology needs and recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Partner with the Digital Membership program to coordinate donor and member data, align EveryAction workflows, support accurate reporting, and ensure consistent processes for engagement, stewardship, and communications.

  • Maintain accurate Development records of gifts, pledges, donor restrictions, and related fundraising activity.
  • Coordinate regular reconciliations and discrepancy resolution with Finance; Finance retains authority for general ledger records, accounting treatment, financial approvals, and official financial reporting.

Staff Leadership, Training, and Collaboration

  • Provide operational guidance, quality review, coaching, and training to the Development Coordinator; formal performance management applies if a direct supervisory relationship is approved.
  • Develop staff training, user guides, and change-management supports to improve adoption of systems and processes.
  • Partner with Development leadership, Finance, Operations, Communications, and external providers to resolve operational issues and improve service.

Compliance, Documentation, and Accountability

  • Maintain clear records of processes, system decisions, access controls, and fundraising operations to support organizational accountability.
  • Support consistent implementation of applicable gift-handling, privacy, donor-restriction, and internal-control procedures in coordination with responsible departments.
  • Escalate significant data, compliance, vendor, and system risks to appropriate leadership.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Substantial experience in nonprofit development operations, fundraising systems, CRM administration, or related organizational operations.
