Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
• 5+ years in software/security engineering prior to Engineering Management experience.
• 5+ years of Engineering Management experience leading senior engineers/managers.
• Proven track record in detection and security data platforms at enterprise or cloud scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for threat detection across Uber's environments.
• Lead teams that author, test, tune, and retire detection logic and standards.
• Set direction for ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and alerting infrastructure.
• Drive measurable improvements in time-to-detect and signal fidelity for priority scenarios.
• Partner with Security Response, Threat Intelligence, and SOC to tie detection quality to outcomes.
• Build and lead a diverse, high-performing team across locations.
