Forsyth Barnes is partnering with a leading organization to appoint a Senior Manager – Data Science, Logistics Modelling to lead a high-performing team responsible for building advanced optimization and AI solutions that transform large-scale logistics operations.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Data Science leader who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional commercial acumen. You'll lead a team of Data Scientists developing optimization algorithms and AI-driven planning models that solve complex operational challenges, influence business strategy, and deliver measurable financial impact.

Key Responsibilities
- * Lead and develop a team of 4–7 Data Scientists.
- * Design and deliver optimization models that improve large-scale logistics planning.
- * Build AI-driven solutions that automate operational decision making.
- * Develop mathematical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
- * Partner with Engineering, IT and Operations to deploy production-ready solutions.
- * Drive experimentation and measure business impact through rigorous testing.
- * Influence logistics strategy through data-driven insights and advanced analytics.
- * Mentor and develop technical talent while fostering a high-performance culture.
- * Present complex analytical findings to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- * Deliver scalable solutions that generate significant commercial value.
Required Experience
- * 6+ years' experience within Data Science, Analytics or Operations Research.
- * Experience leading or mentoring Data Science teams.
- * Strong background building optimization, mathematical modelling or machine learning solutions.
- * Experience solving large-scale operational or logistics challenges.
- * Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through data-driven decision making.
- * Strong communication and leadership skills.
- * Experience delivering production AI or advanced analytics solutions.
Technical Knowledge
