Job summary

Target in Brooklyn Park, MN seeks a Senior Manager - CSIRT, Cybersecurity Defense to lead a shift of CSIRT analysts handling alert intake, triage, containment, and response. You will drive incident response processes, coach staff, and partner with cross-functional teams to raise the maturity of the CSIRT program.

The role requires a 4-year degree and 5+ years of SOC/IR experience, plus active cyber security certifications.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years’ of SOC/IR experience.
• 1-3 years of building and leading high performing cyber security teams with direct reports.
• Cyber security certification (e.g. GIAC, Offensive security, ISC2).
• Deep understanding of monitoring and detection, incident response, artifact collection and analysis, cloud environments and attacker mindset.
• Ability to lead CSIRT during high-severity security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead Incident Response Operations: Direct all phases of the incident response lifecycle, including analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
• Develop and Maintain Response Frameworks: Establish and regularly update incident response policies, procedures, playbooks, and escalation workflows.
• Coordinate Cross-Functional Response: Serve as a central point of contact during major security incidents with partner teams.
• Report on Incident Trends: Develop incident metrics, threat trends, and risk insights for senior leadership.
• Train and Mentor Response Team Members: Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to analysts.
• Test and Validate Response Readiness: Contribute to tabletop exercises, red team engagements, and simulations.
• Integrate Threat Intelligence: Use internal/external threat intel to inform strategies.
• Automate and Streamline Response: Identify automation opportunities using SOAR and related tools.
