Senior Manager, Corporate Finance and Strategy

About the role:

This role leads our Corporate Finance & Strategy functions and collaborates with leaders in People Ops and Recruiting to meet financial goals. Responsibilities include managing the annual budgeting process, creating long-term financial forecasts aligned with corporate strategy, and leading monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop long-term financial forecasts aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts reflecting current business trends, managing the corporate planning calendar and communicating timelines effectively.
  • Define driver-based forecasts for global expenses, understanding the business deeply and incorporating changes.
  • Create and present forecast and reporting packages highlighting key metrics to the Executive Team and Board.
  • Collaborate with F&S systems team to implement and maintain financial planning tools.
  • Partner with People Ops and Recruiting on budget management, forecasting, data analysis, and headcount planning to support strategic decisions.
  • Develop scalable processes and systems to enhance financial visibility and planning efficiency.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support decision-making.
  • Manage and develop a team, demonstrating leadership and inclusivity.
  • Work hours aligned with PST timezone.
  • Embed Samsara’s cultural principles—Customer Success, Long-Term Building, Growth Mindset, Inclusivity, Teamwork—across our global teams.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years in Finance, Accounting, or Investment Banking
  • 5+ years in Strategic Finance / FP&A
  • Strong accounting knowledge and experience working closely with accounting teams
  • Proven financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable with senior management
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Ability to work PST hours

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Industry experience in SaaS technology companies (preferred)
  • Knowledge of GAAP and non-GAAP cash flow and metrics

The annual base salary range for this full-time role is $116,480 — $208,000 USD, varying based on location, experience, and skills.
