Now Brewing – senior manager, Corporate Communications! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

As a senior manager of corporate communications at Starbucks, you will help shape and execute proactive and reactive communications strategies that bring the company’s business priorities and Back to Starbucks strategy to life. You will translate complex business and financial information into clear, compelling narratives; drive day-to-day media engagement; and develop integrated communications across earned media, digital storytelling, social amplification, and other modern channels. Working closely with leaders and cross‑functional partners, you will bring sound judgment, strong execution, and a collaborative approach to high‑visibility business moments in a fast‑moving environment.

As a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, You Will
  • Help develop and execute business communications strategies in partnership with Investor Relations, Finance, and functional business teams, supporting a clear and consistent Starbucks enterprise narrative across earnings, investor events, and key business milestones.
  • Drive day‑to‑day business media engagement and proactive storytelling that positions Starbucks as an innovative growth company and brings the Back to Starbucks strategy to life in business and consumer media.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business, financial, and trade journalists, identifying timely opportunities to tell the Starbucks story accurately and compellingly.
  • Develop integrated communications plans that use earned media, digital storytelling, social amplification, and data‑informed insights to extend the reach and impact of priority narratives.
  • Manage reactive communications for business and financial topics, developing rapid‑response messaging and recommendations that help protect and advance the company’s reputation.
  • Develop strategic messaging, talking points, briefing materials, and media content for senior leaders, with guidance from communications leadership.
  • Partner across the global communications function and with cross‑functional teams to align messaging, manage workstreams, and deliver high‑quality communications against business priorities.
  • Guide agency partners and project teams, and contribute to the development of communications colleagues through coaching, feedback, and shared best practices.
  • Monitor the external landscape, media conversation, and program performance to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and ways to strengthen communications outcomes.
We’d Love To Hear From People With
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, financial communications, or related work, ideally for a large public company or high‑profile brand.
  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex business and financial information into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience executing proactive and reactive media strategies that support company reputation and business priorities.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams, including Investor Relations or Finance, on financial communications, earnings‑related messaging, or enterprise narratives.
  • Strong relationships with business, financial, trade, or national media, along with sound news judgment and a track record of effective media engagement.
  • Experience developing integrated, earned media‑led communications programs that incorporate digital and social storytelling approaches.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and influence across a matrixed organization; experience guiding agencies, project teams, or communications colleagues preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with precise execution, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. Starbucks also offers eligible partners participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, a discounted company stock program (S.I.P.), Starbucks equity program (Bean Stock), incentivized emergency savings, and financial well‑being tools. Additionally, Starbucks offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first‑time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program via the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, student loan management resources, and access to other educational opportunities. You will also have access to backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks will comply with any applicable state and local laws regarding employee leave benefits, including, but not limited to providing time off pursuant to the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and in accordance with its plans and policies. This list is subject to change depending on collective bargaining in locations where partners have a certified bargaining representative. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

We believe we do our best work when we’re together, which is why we’re onsite four (4) days a week.
