Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Manager, Compliance Governance to lead the core programs of Mercury's Compliance Management System, including risk assessment, policy governance, training, and reporting. This role will oversee a team of compliance professionals and partner across Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and banking partners to prepare for regulatory examinations.

You will drive measurable governance improvements, design scalable processes, and apply MRM frameworks to align with Mercury's

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in compliance or risk management at a fintech, bank, or other regulated financial institution
• 3+ years leading teams
• Experience leading regulatory examinations and responding to findings
• Knowledge of banking regulations including consumer protection and BSA/AML
• Ability to present compliance programs to executives and regulators
• Judgment to tailor framework requirements to the business
• Understanding of 1LOD/2LOD in governance
• Familiarity with AI tools to improve efficiency

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Compliance Governance team and set priorities
• Own the compliance risk assessment methodology and execution
• Own enterprise policy governance and lifecycle standards
• Own enterprise compliance training with measurable impact
• Oversee issues management and remediation efforts with Enterprise Risk
• Design and deliver reporting to executives and governance committees
• Support exam and audit readiness for the CMS
• Provide credible challenge across the business and adapt as needed
• Leverage technology to scale governance programs
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Internal Audit across the organization
