Job summary

Mercury is building a modern compliance program to support a growing fintech with a provisional national bank charter. The Senior Manager, Compliance Governance will lead the core CMS programs—risk assessment, policy governance, training, and issues management—collaborating with Enterprise Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and banking partners to ensure readiness for regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in compliance or risk management at a fintech, bank, or other regulated financial institution
• Hands-on experience owning CMS components such as risk assessment, policy governance, training, reporting, or issues management
• Experience leading or central in regulatory examinations, including handling requests and interacting with examiners

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compliance Governance team: set priorities, develop capabilities, and raise the bar
• Own compliance risk assessment methodology and its alignment with enterprise risk
• Oversee enterprise policy governance, standards, and ownership across Mercury
• Direct enterprise compliance training with a risk-based curriculum and measurable effectiveness
• Oversee issues management within the enterprise program with risk identification, remediation, and validation
• Design and deliver compliance reporting to executives and governance committees with actionable metrics
• Support exam and audit readiness for the CMS
• Provide credible challenge to the business and escalate when warranted
• Leverage technology and automation to scale governance programs
• Partner across Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Internal Audit
