Job summary

Mercury is hiring a Senior Manager, Compliance Governance to lead the core CMS programs including risk assessment, policy governance, training, and reporting. The role partners with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and executives to prepare for examinations and build scalable governance using automation.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in compliance, strong regulatory knowledge (BSA/AML, consumer protection), and proven leadership delivering credible challenges to leadership and regulators.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in compliance or risk management at a regulated financial institution.
• 3+ years leading teams and owning CMS components (risk assessment, policy, training, reporting, issues).
• Experience with regulatory examinations and interactions with examiners.
• Knowledge of banking regs, consumer protection, BSA/AML; ability to challenge accurately.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compliance Governance team and set priorities.
• Own risk assessment methodology and alignment with risk framework.
• Own policy governance lifecycle and ownership across Mercury.
• Oversee enterprise compliance training with measurable effectiveness.
• Manage issues within the enterprise issues program with Risk Mgmt.
• Design and deliver reports to execs and governance committees.
• Support exam readiness and regulatory inquiries.
• Provide credible challenge to the business and regulators.
• Leverage AI and automation to scale governance processes.
• Collaborate across Compliance, Risk, Legal and Internal Audit.
