The Team You’ll Work With

The Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH) develops citywide policies to address mental healthcare gaps, focusing on underserved communities with an emphasis on equity, racial justice, and cultural responsiveness. OCMH’s priorities include improving access to care, community resilience, workforce building, and crisis response systems.

The Problems You’ll Solve

The role involves coordinating among agencies and community leaders, providing technical assistance, managing projects, and supporting initiatives to strengthen the mental health workforce and access to care. You will report to the Director of Community and Workforce Initiatives and support projects on youth mental health, social determinants of health, apprenticeships, and cross-sector partnerships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing projects, tracking responsibilities, drafting plans, managing timelines, and analyzing data.
  • Supporting cross-agency collaborations and citywide initiatives.
  • Drafting presentations, reports, and materials.
  • Leading special projects and supporting ongoing initiatives.

Policy Analysis & Writing

  • Researching policy issues, drafting briefs, white papers, and recommendations.

About You

  • Experience in policy development, project management, or program implementation.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and operational skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree and two years of relevant community work, or
  • High school diploma and six years of relevant experience, or
  • Equivalent education/experience with at least one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
