Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

This role provides strategic internal communications counsel to enhance messaging consistency and alignment for Walden University, supporting our growth objectives. Responsibilities include cascading key communications, fostering stakeholder engagement, and conveying the student experience, brand identity, and commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and educational justice. As part of the Adtalem Global Communications team, this position will support Walden University by delivering storytelling opportunities that strengthen the brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and contribute to a comprehensive communications strategy to reinforce the institution's image with students, staff, and alumni.
  2. Provide internal communications counsel and oversee institutional messaging to ensure consistency and alignment with business goals.
  3. Develop communication plans and disseminate messages to Walden colleagues.
  4. Support high-profile, sensitive communications for senior leadership as needed.
  5. Maintain quality standards for all internal publications and communications.
  6. Identify and develop opportunities for content creation.
  7. Conduct ongoing assessments of communication effectiveness related to brand reputation and awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, strategic planning, branding, or related areas.
  • Experience leading internal communications; PR agency experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with various management levels.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with experience in multi-faceted communication planning.
  • Expertise in educational environments and organizational change communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and collaborate across teams.
  • Exceptional business writing, editing, organizational, and presentation skills.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $80,336.75 to $140,851.54, adjusted based on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, 401k with 6% match, flexible time off, 12 paid holidays, and participation in an annual incentive program.
