Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The Director of Content will lead creative strategy, content creation, and advertising development for Walden University within the Creative and Content Center of Excellence (COE). This role involves developing brand campaigns that inspire action, designing program and product activation strategies aligned with our brand platform, and guiding creative teams across paid and owned channels. The ideal candidate is skilled in crafting compelling creative briefs and collaborating with agency or in-house teams to meet brand and performance goals.

The Creative and Content COE aims to deliver top-tier, brand-led creative work. We seek a creative, innovative, and process-oriented leader to elevate our content capabilities for our educational institutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of target audiences, brand campaigns, and program details to inform creative strategies.
  • Collaborate with agencies to develop and oversee full-funnel brand campaigns.
  • Design creative and content roadmaps for paid and owned channels.
  • Apply best practices in storytelling tailored to each channel and platform.
  • Create and manage monthly and annual budgets.
  • Oversee creative content for owned channels including social media, CRM, events, and direct mail.
  • Implement data-driven optimization, reporting, and testing strategies.
  • Work closely with channel leads, marketing, product, finance, and compliance teams.
  • Manage agency relationships, including budgeting, scope, and contracts.
  • Establish efficient workflows and project management processes within the COE.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; agency experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in brand and creative strategy leadership.
  • Knowledge of market research, insights, and performance data reporting.
  • Experience managing multi-channel paid media campaigns.
  • Proven success in lead-generation marketing, including direct mail, events, and online campaigns.
  • Budget management experience with understanding of financial impacts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Monday), and marketing platforms.
  • Experience in complex or matrix organizations.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, regulated environments.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Additional Information

The expected salary range is $97,253 to $175,761, commensurate with experience and other factors.
