Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a senior manager to lead a team of developers responsible for maintaining and enhancing software that supports our Collision Repair business. You will partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure robust, scalable solutions that improve operational performance.

Responsibilities include delivering against the development roadmap, mentoring engineers, and aligning technical delivery with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or Information Systems or equivalent development experience.
• 10+ years of development experience with 3+ years leading/supervising multiple IT projects through the full SDLC.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and grow teams of highly motivated, deeply technical engineers.
• Significant experience with Java Enterprise Technologies, Spring Boot, Spring Frameworks, RESTful services, SQL, Oracle, OpenShift, cloud-native microservices and EAI.
• Experience in leading teams in custom development and integrating multiple software packages.
• Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience prioritizing technology needs within budget; familiar with Agile / DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and day-to-day management of development staff to remove roadblocks and drive progress.
• Prioritize, schedule, and complete development projects per business needs.
• Lead regular meetings with product managers, agile teams, IT groups, and stakeholders to negotiate priorities and timelines.
• Hire, mentor, and conduct performance reviews to grow team capabilities.
• Ensure on-time, defect-free delivery of applications per Penske standards.
• Adhere to Penske Development Process and maintain reporting for leadership.
• Oversee multiple systems and cross-functional projects; partner with business owners.
• Follow IT security, licensing, source control, and architectural standards.
