Job description

Position Title:
Senior Manager, Business Operations & Strategy, PIH-US
Position Classification:
Regular; Exempt; Full-Time; 40+ Hours/Week (may include some evenings and weekends)
Reports To:
Executive Director, PIH-US
Location:
Remote within the U.S., with up to 15% domestic travel. Note: U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not provided.
About PIH-US:
Partners In Health United States (PIH-US) is the U.S. arm of Partners In Health, a nonprofit organization dedicated to health justice. We aim for health to be recognized as a human right in the U.S., working with community partners to build strong, equitable health systems across several focus communities.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager will partner closely with the ED to refine and execute team priorities, provide strategic and administrative support, lead internal communications, and manage special projects. This role requires excellent judgment, diplomacy, discretion, and organizational skills, representing PIH-US to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  1. Internal communications and coordination (30%)
    • Enhance communication and collaboration tools among team members
    • Coordinate all-team and leadership meetings, including agenda, minutes, and follow-ups
    • Prepare communications and materials on behalf of the ED
    • Understand and communicate organizational strategies and priorities
    • Support preparation for meetings and events with research, briefing notes, and talking points
    • Maintain relationships across PIH with tact and diplomacy
  2. Special projects management and partner stewardship (30%)
    • Plan and support retreats and strategic initiatives
    • Support the ED in maintaining relationships with funders and stakeholders, including developing pitches and materials
    • Manage cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement
  3. Strategic planning and alignment (25%)
    • Manage the annual strategic planning process and track progress
    • Improve accountability tools and communicate progress internally and externally
    • Engage external partners in strategy development
    • Coordinate with organizational-wide strategic planning efforts
  4. Administrative management (15%)
    • Manage hiring processes for roles reporting to the ED
    • Coordinate travel and logistics for the ED
    • Handle expense reports and calendar management
Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic skills
  • Experience developing operational and strategic systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Discretion in managing confidential information

Pay and Benefits
The starting salary range is $85,000-$95,000 annually, depending on experience and other factors. Benefits include a 401(k) with employer match, health insurance, paid time off, and holidays.
