Walmart is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development - IP in Irvine, CA to lead strategic partnerships and licensing with tech ecosystem partners for Walmart’s connected entertainment platforms. You will negotiate agreements, drive certification and product roadmaps, and coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance and Operations.

Demonstrated success in IP licensing, high-level negotiations, and global partner relationships is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field with 3 years’ experience in business development OR 5 years’ experience in business development.
• Experience licensing and negotiating with global technology partners.
• Streaming/media industry experience advantageous.

Position Summary

This Senior Manager, Business Development role leads strategic partnerships and commercial agreements with technology, licensing, DRM, metadata, codec, and platform partners that support Walmart’s connected entertainment ecosystem across VIZIO, onn, and future device platforms. The role develops partner strategy, negotiates complex agreements, drives certification and compliance initiatives, manages technology roadmaps, and identifies opportunities to optimize cost, flexibility, and long-term value. Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations, this leader delivers scalable customer experiences while advancing Walmart’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, integrity, and everyday value.

What you'll do

• Lead strategic partnerships with Dolby, DTS/Xperi, Google, Microsoft, Gracenote, and other technology ecosystem partners supporting Walmart’s connected entertainment platforms.
• Negotiate licensing, commercial, and technology agreements while driving certification, compliance, and product roadmap initiatives.
• Manage partner escalations, technology deployments, and cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance.
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve platform flexibility, mitigate risk, and strengthen long-term competitive advantage.
• Deliver scalable customer experiences and innovative solutions aligned with Walmart’s values and business objectives.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience leading complex IP licensing, and technology partner negotiations.
• Proven success in developing and managing strategic relationships with global technology partners and industry organizations in the Streaming media industry.
• Strong commercial, contractual, and financial acumen with the ability to structure and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements.
• Experience influencing product roadmaps, certification programs, and cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations, and deliver innovative, customer-focused outcomes at scale.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
