Job summary

ORIC Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an experienced analytical research and development scientist to join the CMC group in San Diego. You will lead analytical method development, tech transfer to external vendors, and oversee GMP activities to ensure product readiness for regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry with 7–10+ years in pharma/biotech, and has hands-on experience with UHPLC, LC-MS, and related analytical technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD in analytical chemistry or relevant field with 7–10+ years in pharma/biotech
• Proven problem-solving, initiative, and strategic input
• Ability to lead external collaborations with CDMOs/CTOs and internal teams
• Experience with developing and validating analytical methods and control strategies
• Knowledge of regulatory expectations (ICH, GLP, cGMP) and NDA filings

Responsibilities

• Manage outsourced and in-house analytical activities and tech transfer to CDMOs/CTOs
• Lead analytical method development, validation, stability testing, and data trending
• Oversee GMP manufacturing and product characterization with external partners
• Provide technical guidance during investigations and quality events
• Author/review development reports and sections of health authority filings
• Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and participate in regulatory strategy
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Clinical supply, and Process Chemistry teams
• Maintain batch genealogy, stability data, and archiving of results
