Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Senior Manager of Test Engineering to lead a program powering AI, autonomy, and software-defined machines. You will shape test strategy, quality standards, and execution models for intelligent systems, guiding cross-functional teams to tackle complex challenges and implement AI-enabled quality practices.

You will drive modern automation, governance, and risk assessments while ensuring safety, reliability, and scalability for customers in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with 7+ years leading test engineering teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and AI test architectures is a plus.
• Ability to lead engineering managers and drive accountability across multiple teams.
• Track record delivering complex test programs at scale in a large organization.
• Experience aligning testing with product roadmaps and regulatory/compliance needs.
• Strong knowledge of Java, AWS Bedrock, Playwright and related test tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end AI testing strategy, frameworks, and automation approaches.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software test leads and engineers.
• Architect scalable AI test solutions including data quality and model validation.
• Partner with engineering, product, and data science to align testing with roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement in test operations and observability.
