Job summary

You will set technical direction, drive platform development, and partner with product, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI solutions.

You will manage staffing, performance, and career development, influence roadmaps, and ensure delivery on time and within budget. Travel up to 20% and relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering organizations delivering AI-enabled products or platforms.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, Foundation Models, LLMs, RAG architectures.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and edge computing environments.
• Experience deploying AI solutions in industrial/manufacturing contexts.
• Strong software architecture knowledge including APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global, cross-functional team of engineers on the Caterpillar AI Assistant.
• Establish technical vision, architecture strategy, and product roadmaps.
• Partner with stakeholders to define priorities and strategic programs.
• Drive AI platform development, governance, CI/CD, and quality objectives.
• Manage budgets, staffing, and vendor relationships.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and communicate with leadership.
