Job summary

The Weather Company in Andover, MA is seeking a Senior Manager of Meteorological Technologies to transform meteorological operations by building intelligent tools and automated AI workflows. Lead and co-design cloud-based solutions with the Forecast Operations team and guide rapid evolution of production deployments across multiple initiatives.

You will balance innovative AI adoption with reliability, partnering with science and technology colleagues to deploy practical, trustworthy systems used

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud-based solutions architecture, software development, or DevOps.
• Domain experience in meteorology, weather forecasting, aviation, or scientific operations.
• Production software delivery across full lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Experience in 24x7 operational environments with mission-critical systems.
• Managed 3-5+ concurrent technical initiatives to completion.
• Experience with AI and traditional solutions depending on problem needs.
• API design and integration with existing tools and architectures.
• System modernization to upgrade operational systems when needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and leverage intelligent meteorological tools and workflow automation using AI and traditional software.
• Unlock value by adding capacity to meteorological operations through automation and integration.
• Evaluate AI tools and traditional software for practical, trustworthy value.
• Collaborate with meteorologists and developers to co-create solutions.
• Make pragmatic technology decisions balancing innovation with reliability, feasibility, cost and impact.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects advancing 3-5+ initiatives from assessment to deployment.
• Influence technical direction across Science & Technology and operations teams.
• Champion thoughtful AI adoption while maintaining trust and reliability.
• Modernize legacy systems with sustainable replacements when blocking automation.
