Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing to translate engineering intent into scalable, high-quality production processes in Houston, TX. This role leads cross-functional teams across additive, machining, and integration, shaping manufacturing strategies and roadmaps.

You will drive DFx, BOM integrity, and process development, while mentoring a multi-disciplinary team and partnering with engineering, test, program management, supply chain, and facilities.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in aerospace or high-performance hardware manufacturing.
• Expertise in DfAM, CNC machining, GD&T, and manufacturing process development.
• Strong judgment in manufacturability assessments and quoting methodology.
• Familiarity with additive technologies such as LPBF and advanced post‑processing workflows.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering data packages and drive MBOM accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM): champion DfAM practices across propulsion, structural, and flight hardware programs; align CAD, GD&T, tolerances with additive capabilities; evaluate components for additive suitability and post-processing flow.
• Drawing Reviews & Quoting Expertise: lead cross-functional drawing reviews focusing on manufacturability and cost drivers; provide quoting-level insights; ensure BOM/MBOM integrity.
• Translation Between Engineering & Manufacturing: act as primary integrator between design, manufacturing, machining, test, and integration teams; convert requirements into manufacturing plans and inspection steps; coordinate handoffs.
• Broad Ownership of Manufacturing Technology & Capability: maintain broad understanding of machining, additive, composites, tooling, fixtures, automation, inspection; oversee process development and readiness; partner with facilities.
• Leadership & Collaboration: lead a multi-disciplinary manufacturing team; provide mentorship and development paths; build partnerships with Engineering, Test, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Quality.
