Job summary

The Carlyle Group seeks a Manager of AlpInvest Accounting Policy in Washington, DC to lead technical accounting for three platforms, including consolidation under ASC 810 and revenue recognition under ASC 606. You will partner across Fund Controllership, Legal, Tax, and Internal Audit to standardize policies and ensure Carlyle-scale integration.

You will supervise policy development, support SEC disclosures, and coordinate with external auditors while driving SOX 404 compliance and timely

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or technical accounting policy.
Experience applying US GAAP to alternative asset management fund structures, including ASC 946, 810, 606, 820.
Experience with internal control compliance (SOX 404) preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication, memo drafting, and presenting complex technical accounting issues.

Responsibilities

Serve as GAAP accounting liaison across AlpInvest and Carlyle functions.
Standardize AlpInvest accounting policies and roll out updated guidance.
Conduct technical accounting research and draft memos for external auditors.
Advise on fund-level investment accounting and portfolio activity.
Prepare ASC 810 analyses for new fund structures and reflect VIE considerations.
