Job summary

Biogen, Inc. is seeking an Engineer in Manufacturing Sciences at our RTP facility to support cell culture bioprocessing for drug substance manufacturing. You will execute laboratory studies, analyze samples, and assist in technology transfer into GMP manufacturing.

You will collaborate across departments to improve processes, perform CAPA investigations, and contribute to change controls and capital projects. On-site work and data-driven problem solving are key to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field.
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Familiarity with biopharmaceutical manufacturing or mammalian cell culture.
• Experience executing laboratory studies and analyzing data.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in mammalian cell culture and bioreactor operations to support technology transfer and process improvement.
• Plan, execute, and document laboratory studies to improve process robustness and understandings; troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with Technical Development, Engineering, and GMP Manufacturing on cross-functional projects.
• Support upstream GMP operations including process transfer activities and manufacturing campaigns.
• Serve as technical SME for investigations, contributing to root cause analysis and CAPAs.
• Represent manufacturing sciences in change controls and capital projects.
• Support process validation activities including batch execution and technical reports.
• Analyze manufacturing data and communicate insights to stakeholders.
