Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Maintenance Worker III to perform skilled labor across streets, public works, parks, and facilities. You will operate a range of equipment to support maintenance, repair, and safety programs.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of maintenance experience, a valid Texas CDL-B, and the ability to read maps and follow complex instructions. This role offers benefits and a focus on public service.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in maintenance and labor work.
• Texas Driver's License with good driving history.
• Commercial Driver’s License Class B may be required for certain departments.
• Texas Vehicle Inspectors License may be required for certain departments.
• All qualifying information listed in the minimum qualifications section must be included in the application.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance work setting forms, pouring concrete, and laying asphalt for sidewalks, curbs, and streets.
• Lays pipes for storm sewers, drains, and water mains to ensure proper flow.
• Loads and unloads tools and materials to keep the worksite ready.
• Flags traffic and places safety devices to protect crew and the public.
• Digs trenches and grades, trims vegetation, and cleans debris.
• Operates machinery and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Performs facility safety inspections and reports issues.
