We serve the OEM Industrial, Healthcare/Medical Device, Aerospace/Defense, Renewable Energy, and Electronics sectors by manufacturing both conventional and highly technical items.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs on building, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and major repairs on building and equipment, with major repairs under supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, and repairing or replacing broken parts.
  • Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems.
  • Complete maintenance checklists regularly and maintain records of procedures.
  • Operate computer systems that control and monitor mechanical and utility systems.
  • Install electrical wiring and equipment, including during remodeling projects.
  • Repair electrical equipment, control circuits, refrigeration, and security systems as needed.
  • Install computer cabling if required.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Assist with renovation and remodeling projects, including drywall repairs and painting.
  • Perform outside duties such as snow removal when necessary.
  • Obtain estimates and order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and correspondence.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to write simple reports and communicate effectively in small groups.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions.
  • Deal with problems involving concrete variables.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED plus at least one year of experience in building and mechanical maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Occasionally sitting. Must often lift/move over 100 pounds. Visual requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, chemicals, weather, electrical hazards, and vibration. Noise level is moderate to loud.
