Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician in West Chicago, IL. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with manuals and training.

This expert-level role includes training and scheduling work for team members. Expect to apply 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, diagnose problems, ensure safety compliance, and work with minimal supervision while collaborating with others.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a similar role with hands-on machine maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Industrial Maintenance Technician program is not required but preferred.
• Basic to mid-level mechanical and electrical skills with the aptitude to learn advanced skills.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems; identify root causes and corrective actions; adhere to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Observe machines to identify root causes and preventative measures.
• Dismantle devices to access parts and replace defective components.
• Repair or replace parts and test machines after maintenance.
• Set up machining operations and perform welding, carpentry, and plumbing tasks.
