Job summary

Sika Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Aurora, IL facility. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, conduct preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime on production lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical documents, schematics, and diagrams.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems and programs.
• Experience coordinating and working with outside contractors for maintenance, repairs, and projects beyond internal capabilities.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all maintenance work safely and in accordance with plant policies, procedures, and applicable codes.
• Obtain required permits and ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are in place before beginning work.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including motors, drives, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process control equipment.
• Maintain and repair mechanical drive components, including gearboxes, bearings, rolls, gears, sprockets, chains, belts, and alignment systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure proper lubrication of equipment, with focus on preventing equipment failures.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs with production operations to minimize downtime.
• Work with operators, maintenance personnel, specialists, and engineers in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
