Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform a range of carpentry, plumbing, and systems maintenance across hospital facilities. The role supports safety, reliability, and efficiency for staff, patients, and visitors, with opportunities to grow within the team.

Responsibilities include responding to calls, performing preventative maintenance on pumps, boilers, and HVAC systems, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry tasks including cabinets, stud walls, mudding, doors and hardware.
• Experience with commercial plumbing and refrigeration systems.
• Valid Hawaii Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, discuss, and problem-solve with the facilities team on repairs and maintenance.
• Respond promptly to trouble and emergency calls and complete work orders.
• Keep technical and safety training knowledge and skills current.
• Learn NFPA and The Joint Commission codes and standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on equipment including pumps, boilers, water heaters, kitchen equipment, air handlers, refrigeration equipment and plumbing systems.
• Maintain plumbing circulation system and recreation therapy pool.
• Inspect fire sprinkler pump and related components to ensure code compliance and safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment and obtain repair quotes.
• Review blueprints and electrical drawings; understand safety requirements for hospital systems.
• Utilize a CMMS to track maintenance and repair estimations and cost records.
• Pay attention to detail when operating machinery and power tools.
• Position may be assigned other related duties or special projects.
