Job summary

Sotera Health Company in San Diego is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on processing equipment, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and ensure safe, reliable operation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will read electrical and mechanical drawings, manage parts orders, and lead small equipment-improvement projects. Requires a technical degree or electrician certification and 7 years of experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 7 years of maintenance experience in a processing/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of 480 volt 3 phase power.
• Ability to perform instrument calibration.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; welding and cutting torch use.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine daily maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance on processing equipment as directed by the Supervisor.
• Identifies problems, collects data, draws valid conclusions, and carries out necessary repairs to restore equipment to operational status.
• Identifies materials needed, obtains pricing information, completes purchase orders and, with Supervisor’s approval, orders materials.
• Interfaces with operations personnel regarding work orders and outside contractors, as necessary.
• Adheres to all facility safety programs; takes lead role on production floor and may make decisions as instructed.
• Projects small equipment enhancements and maintenance reliability programs at direction of engineering.
