Job summary

Norshield, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Montgomery, AL to maintain and repair facility equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support reliability improvements to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include servicing CNC machines, PLC-controlled systems, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Maintenance Technician.
• Ability to read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Experience with PLC and robotic systems.
• Experience with PLC programming.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, particularly 480V 3-phase systems.
• Welding experience: MIG, TIG, ARC.
• Qualified electrical/electronic with metal fabrication experience.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment across the facility.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; support preventive maintenance.
• Perform maintenance on CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers).
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-based equipment and control systems.
• Inventory management and requesting supplies for the department.
• Ensure waste oils and greases are collected and stored.
• Fabricate replacement parts using lathes, mills, grinders, and saws.
• Set up and maintain welding jigs and programs as needed.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure records of repairs and lockouts are documented.
