Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company in Edgerton, KS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance on distribution center equipment, including conveyors, robots, and packaging systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or recognized industrial maintenance, electrical, mechatronics, controls, or automation training preferred.
Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, packaging, material-handling, or similarly automated environment.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of distribution center equipment and systems, including conveyors, sortation equipment, pallet-handling equipment, packaging and kitting equipment, dock equipment, battery-charging systems, and automated or robotic equipment.
Diagnose electrical and controls-related failures using schematics, wiring diagrams, multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic tools.
Connect to PLCs and HMIs to monitor inputs/outputs, identify faults, interpret alarms, and support recovery per site change-control requirements.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; read and interpret diagrams and manuals to complete repairs safely.
Perform precision mechanical work and alignments; use measurement tools and verify condition before release to service.
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on material-handling equipment and facility systems; identify abnormal conditions and recurring defects.
Use CMMS to document troubleshooting findings, labor, parts, and follow-up needs; maintain asset history and close work orders.
