Job Description

The 3rd shift Senior Maintenance Technician position works under limited supervision to conduct major repairs to production and support equipment, HVAC equipment, boiler systems, fire protection systems, and building management systems. Additionally, the technician should have first-level knowledge of building electrical and water infrastructure.

Compensation: Non-exempt, competitive hourly pay based on experience. Shift Differential, OT, and Performance Bonus are eligible.

Travel: None

Location: Newbury, OH Manufacturing Facility. 3rd Shift (11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safely and competently perform troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on a variety of manufacturing equipment, both indoors and outdoors, in a continuous operational environment.
  2. Analyze and interpret one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, sketches, and drawings to determine troubleshooting approaches, including circuit testing and component replacement.
  3. Inspect, repair, install, and wire all electrical devices and circuits up to 480VAC.
  4. Maintain HVAC systems by diagnosing, repairing, and replacing fan motors, burners, and thermostats.
  5. Ensure water quality through routine checks and water analysis as required.
  6. Coordinate with outside contractors to monitor wastewater operations and troubleshoot issues for efficiency.
  7. Perform electrical troubleshooting and modify existing electrical circuits as needed, utilizing test equipment and procedures.
  8. Manage building management systems, fire protection systems, pumps, and alarm panels.
  9. Assist in training new maintenance technicians.
  10. Support other specialized areas within maintenance as required.
  11. Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

This list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

Education & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Trade school or apprenticeship certification, with certified electrical knowledge and training preferred.
  • Five to eight years of experience in industrial machinery, electrical systems, building management, and facility systems.

Competencies:

  • Ability to troubleshoot up to the PLC level, replace units, load programs, and verify operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ownership in maintaining spare parts inventory and collaboration with TPM Coordinator for database/BOM building.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Physical Effort and Work Environment:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds; maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly.
  • Exposure to oil, noise, heat, and cold due to seasonal changes.
