The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of the property and oversight of the maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with department protocol. The SMT will collaborate effectively with co-workers, contributing to a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for completing work orders related to the physical maintenance and repair of assigned buildings using work order software programs
Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols
Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and keeping logs up to date
Collaborate with the Supervisor to implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain related records and logs
Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
Effectively communicate building status and changes to the appropriate individuals
Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices
Consistently act professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure respectful and effective interactions
Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe and productive manner
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of related work experience and technical training required; 5+ years of related work experience preferred
High school diploma or GED required; technical training in maintenance-related courses preferred
CFC Handling Certification preferred
Strong communication skills required
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Working knowledge of tools and their proper use, with a strong focus on safety.
24-hour availability for emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds with proper body mechanics
Willingness to work overtime for special projects as required
Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications, and written operational procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork and maintain positive relationships with clients, tenants, and co-workers
Ability to work independently and organize/prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
