Job description

Are you a Multi-skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer who has worked on PPM schedules for a Rail Maintenance Depot or similar and hold full UK driving licence?

MTMS Ltd are looking to recruit a Site Engineer responsible for the maintenance of systems and equipment used to maintain rolling stock which include:

  • CET's

  • Train Wash Machines

  • Boilers

  • Plant

  • PLC systems

  • Fuel and Ad blue systems

  • Train sand systems

  • Depot Protection

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a Multi-Skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer with an electrical qualification or equivalent, but this is not a requirement, similar experience will be considered.

The Work

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out Pre-Planned Maintenance (PPM) works along with reactive works at rail maintenance depots on a day to day basis.

As well as delivering the above services and supporting the general day to day running and reactive repairs needed within a large train depot environment; a good understanding of PLC operated systems is advantageous.

A full UK driving licence is required. We are looking for nationwide applicants in the area advertised, paid travel to our other sites will be provided.

We provide a company van, fuel and mobile phone for works use, as well as a food subsistence payment and paid hotel (if required to travel), other benefits such as sick pay, holiday pay, a pension scheme, paid breaks and life insurance and a company benefits programme with high street, gym and family days out discounts upon completion of a successful probation.

Weekly overtime is available in addition to the salary offered and there is a clear progression and training path for the right candidate.

Weekend call out retainer of £50 a day / £100 a day on Bank holiday ( 1 in 12 week average) after successful probationary period. If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.

Competencies

On application the prospective candidate shall be competent or be able to show experience to a site “engineering “status and be required to:-

  • Have a minimum of twelve months track experience
  • Have a thorough understanding of the nature of the work, the working environment and the potential hazards.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the correct use of tools and equipment.
  • Carry qualifications, be time served, competent in Electrical and Mechanical systems.
  • Have a basic understanding of IT to enable emails and reports to be completed.
  • Willing to undertake further training courses as and when required.
