Job summary

Repligen Corp is seeking a maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain production and facility equipment in a fast-paced bioprocessing environment.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical repair skills, experience with PLCs and CAD tools, and leadership to guide the maintenance team. You will ensure safety, schedule adherence, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and certified trade or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • 6+ years of advanced mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related repair experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with PLC, CAD, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronically controlled equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment.
  • Lead maintenance projects and oversee the maintenance team; coordinate with external vendors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment changeovers to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Ensure safety and compliance; read drawings/tech manuals and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety. This position is responsible for start-up of equipment, preventive maintenance, equipment changeovers, equipment/building repairs, basic/routine facility maintenance while following all safety measures. Assist manager and oversee the maintenance team. Lead projects, schedule repairs and maintenance to adhere to manufacturing schedule. Help with scheduling including time and labor. Update and create drawings or charts to adhere and contribute to matrix. Lead and support the maintenance team during projects, equipment rollouts, and facility initiatives. Perform emergency repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime. Execute preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems. Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and control systems. Conduct equipment calibrations and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work orders while maintaining accurate maintenance records. Manage hazardous waste handling and disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee and coordinate work performed by external vendors and contractors. Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures. Collaborate effectively with Engineering, IT, Operations Technology (OT), and production teams on projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: High School Diploma, GED, certified trade or equivalent completion of a craft apprenticeship required. 6+ years of advanced mechanical, steam generator, electrical, plumbing, building, HVAC system repair or related experience required. Experience in industrial manufacturing with PLC, CAD, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electronically controlled equipment is preferred. Management skills and leadership required. Knowledge of 5S/6S techniques and Lean Manufacturing Skills. Knowledge of safety practices or Hazwoper training.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Math Ability

Ability to perform basic math problems, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Requires ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Utilization of reading and understanding measuring tools.

Reasoning Ability

Have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and directions and provide immediate feedback.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word and be able to navigate ERP, CMMS, BMS websites and systems with ease. Type 40-60 WPM. Intermediate CAD or Solid Works proficiency.

Specialized Skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Work Instructions. Certificates and Licenses: Technical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing training and/or certifications required.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, vibration, with risk of electrical shock. Regularly exposed to loud noises from equipment or processes. Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Regularly work in-door and out-door in heat and cold. Regularly exposed to hazardous waste and chemicals. Regularly exposed to heights above 10 feet. Occasionally required to work in confined spaces.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated hourly rate/salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $39/Hr. -$46/Hr.

Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
