Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a Maintenance Specialist 4 at Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA. This role supervises staff, oversees maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and leads safety programs to ensure a safe environment for staff and incarcerated individuals.

The MS4 will supervise offender work crews, manage budgets, and coordinate multiple trades including HVAC, plumbing, welding, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience as a Mechanical tradesman or Mechanical supervisor.
• Valid Washington state driver\'s license.
• Supervisory knowledge and experience.
• Familiarity with welding, mechanical systems, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read technical drawings and plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and supervise two trades (HVAC, Plumbing, Steam, Carpentry, Mechanical, Welding, Groundskeeping and/or Wastewater).
• Lead administration: tracking, payroll, attendance and budgets for shop supplies and projects.
• Oversee MCC Maintenance Mechanics in welding and grounds operations.
• Lead MCC Safety Programs (Fall Protection, Fire Extinguishers, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, etc.).
