Job summary

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation (APR) is seeking a General Maintenance Supervisor II to direct maintenance crews responsible for city buildings, facilities, and grounds.

Under general supervision, you will inspect sites for compliance, train staff, develop work plans and budgets, and read blueprints to ensure reliable, safe operations across Austin park facilities and recreation centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years in building/construction, 2 in lead/supervisory role.
• Must have or obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and work order systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects construction sites for codes, specifications, safety; enforces safety rules.
• Assists in developing operating budgets; orders supplies and parts.
• Develops and revises operating procedures.
• Trains personnel, assigns duties, monitors progress, reviews work for accuracy.
• Reads blueprints; inspects buildings and equipment for repairs.
