Job summary

Miami University is seeking a Sr Maintenance/Repair Technician (Emergency Tech) for the Maintenance Group 2. This regular, full-time position is hourly at $17.95 with a 40-hour week on a 4-day, 10-hour shift, Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.

Responsibilities include mechanical repair, preventive maintenance, and assisting with event setups. A background check is required; E-Verify participation is noted. Apply to join a smoke- and tobacco-free campus.

Qualifications

• Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires driver's license.
• Preferred: two or more years of experience in troubleshooting in multiple maintenance trade areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles
• Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed
• Serves as informational resource to staff
• Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment
• May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events
