Job summary

International Paper in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician Level 4 for full-time work on a Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm shift. The role offers hourly pay of $39.23 with a $0.40 night differential.

You will maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical and mechanical systems, install wiring, and support startup/shutdown tasks. Personal protective equipment is required, and duties include handling a range of tools from hand screwdrivers to large pipe wrenches.

Qualifications

• Observes electrical devices in operation to determine causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices, controls, and programs.
• Troubleshoots drives, contactors, fuses, motor starters, HMIs, PLCs, and low voltage wiring up to 480VAC.
• Planned startup/shutdown tasks, energizing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wire and cables.
• Replaces faulty electrical components on machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
