Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to keep our residential community safe, comfortable, and running smoothly in Springfield, VA. You will lead by example, share maintenance techniques with the team, and oversee the condition of your neighborhood to ensure a home residents are proud of.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in residential apartment, construction, or commercial building maintenance.
• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances; HVAC knowledge.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on-call as necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• EPA certification to handle refrigerants.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of HVAC equipment as assigned.
• Complete preventive maintenance on designated equipment per manufacturer recommendations.
• Respond to emergency system and equipment failures.
• Serve as lead mechanic for assigned area and maintain overall neighborhood condition.

• Compensation: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

How you will make an impact

• Perform necessary maintenance of HVAC equipment as assigned
• Perform all necessary scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on designated equipment while following manufacturer’s recommendation
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure
• Serve as the lead mechanic in assigned area(s) and will be responsible for the overall condition of the neighborhood(s)

What you will need

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential apartment complex, construction, or commercial building maintenance
• Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and appliances. Should have a working knowledge of HVAC
• Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and “on-call” overtime as necessary
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
