Job summary

Erickson Senior Living's Greenspring Village in Springfield, VA is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems, ensuring safe, comfortable living spaces for residents.

You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies, contributing to reliable operations and resident well‑being. The role requires at least 5 years of HVAC experience and EPA refrigerant certification, with lifting up to 50 pounds and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in HVAC service; education will be considered in lieu of experience.
• EPA certification to handle refrigerants is required.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment as required.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Inspect, monitor and evaluate system efficiency and safety for trouble-free operation.
• Read blueprints and isometrics; document work with sketches.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance following manufacturer recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and repair designated refrigeration equipment and ice machines.

As a Senior HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical building systems, including heat pumps, refrigeration equipment, PRV valves, cooling towers, pumps, motors, hot water systems, and building automation systems. Your expertise will help ensure our community operates efficiently and reliably while enhancing the daily lives of the residents we serve. • Compensation: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour, based on experience

How you will make an impact

• Perform requested maintenance of all HVAC equipment, refrigeration equipment, etc. as necessary.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Inspect, monitor, and evaluate the efficiency and safety of systems to ensure trouble-free operation.
• Read blueprints and isometrics, prepare sketches as required to document work.
• Perform all necessary scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on designated equipment while following manufacturer's recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and repair designated refrigeration equipment and ice machines.

What you will need

• Minimum of 5 years experience in HVAC service; education will be considered in lieu of experience.
• Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and “on-call” overtime as necessary
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants
