Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living in Springfield, VA, is hiring a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to keep our premier senior living community safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. You will lead maintenance efforts, share techniques with the team, and ensure the condition of your neighborhood is excellent for residents.

Responsibilities include HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and acting as the lead mechanic for your designated areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in residential apartment complexes, commercial buildings, or similar settings.
• Strong working knowledge of residential building maintenance incl. plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances; HVAC knowledge required.
• EPA certification to handle refrigerants is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.

• Perform HVAC maintenance as assigned.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on designated equipment following manufacturer recommendations.
• Respond to emergency calls for system or equipment failures.
• Serve as lead mechanic for assigned neighborhood(s) and oversee overall condition of the area.

• Compensation: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

How You Will Make An Impact

• Perform necessary maintenance of HVAC equipment as assigned
• Perform all necessary scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on designated equipment while following manufacturer’s recommendation
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure
• Serve as the lead mechanic in assigned area(s) and will be responsible for the overall condition of the neighborhood(s)

What You Will Need

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential apartment complex, construction, or commercial building maintenance
• Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and appliances. Should have a working knowledge of HVAC
• Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and “on-call” overtime as necessary
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
