Job summary

The County of Volusia is seeking a Senior Maintenance Worker for the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. This position handles semi-skilled, manual labor across a wide range of construction and maintenance tasks, and supports events by setting up and tearing down spaces and equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of maintenance experience (or two years in construction).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, plus 1 year of Maintenance Worker experience with Volusia County or 2 years in construction/general maintenance.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Compliance with safety procedures and county ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial-grade equipment as needed to perform maintenance and event setup.
• Read work orders and floor plans to set up and teardown events.
• Perform venue setup for meetings, trainings, theater, or banquets and install event-specific equipment.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs.
• Assist as a lead worker on small crews when assigned.
