Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Team Manager – Maintenance & Engineering to lead maintenance operations in a high‑volume manufacturing setting. You will drive safety, reliability, productivity and continuous improvement while partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Skilled Trades to meet quality, cost and delivery goals.

You will build high-performing teams, develop robust maintenance processes, and manage budgets to balance safety, output and uptime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience plus significant technical training.
  • 5+ years of maintenance, manufacturing engineering, or industrial operations experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of assembly manufacturing processes and the Ford Production System.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and structured problem-solving tools (Global 8D/4D, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions to achieve business results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Safe and Reliable Operations: Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, throughput, and equipment performance.
  • Optimize Cost and Performance: Manage departmental operating and maintenance budgets while controlling Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU).
  • Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors and skilled trades employees.
