Job summary

Lakota Local Schools is seeking a Maintenance Engineer III to lead advanced repair and maintenance of district facilities, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems. This senior, hands-on role emphasizes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and safe operation while delivering high-quality service to schools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensed journeyman electrician and licensed journeyman plumber preferred.
Certified for backflow testing; fire sprinkler certification; EPA certification (refrigerant handling).
HVAC equipment repairs.
Holds or can obtain a contractor's license; Building Operators Certificate (obtain when available).
Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in building operations, maintenance, and construction.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

Lead advanced repair, maintenance, and safe operation of building systems across district facilities.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Support energy management systems and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
Provide responsive, high-quality customer service to schools and departments.
