Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. seeks a Senior Mainframe Platform Engineer to own the health, security, resiliency, and performance of mission-critical mainframe platforms (z/OS, CICS, MQ, zCEE) across Parallel Sysplex environments.

The role provides technical leadership, platform roadmaps, incident response, and modernization guidance, with mentoring for engineers, analysts, and support staff. This is a flexible remote/onsite position with opportunity to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Seven or more years of professional z/OS or mainframe systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health, security, resiliency, availability, connectivity and performance of z/OS, CICS, MQ, and zCEE across Sysplexes.
• Engineer, install, configure, maintain mainframe OS/subsystems and related products.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for high-priority mainframe incidents.
• Develop platform roadmaps, standards, and implementation playbooks.
• Mentor engineers, analysts, and technical support staff.
