Job summary
Huntington is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems/Platform Engineer to own and shepherd the health, security, and performance of z/OS, CICS, MQ, and zCEE across complex Sysplex environments. You will lead incidents, design networking, and guide modernization while mentoring engineers and ensuring scalable platform reliability.
You will translate business needs into technical roadmaps, develop reference models, and implement automation to reduce outages and manual work.
Qualifications
- Seven or more years of professional experience in z/OS or mainframe systems engineering.
- Expert knowledge of IBM Z technologies and related mainframe subsystems.
- Strong written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Maintain health, security, resiliency, availability, connectivity, and performance of z/OS, CICS for z/OS, MQ for z/OS, and zCEE.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for high-priority incidents in mainframe platforms.
- Develop platform roadmaps, technical strategies, and implementation playbooks.
- Translate requirements into engineering designs and integration plans.
- Design mainframe networking, connectivity, and security configurations.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers and analysts.
